What is Politics?-A Critical Overview
Zip, Zilch, and Zero are just a few of the words I could choose from a stockpile of adjectives that accurately describe what politics truly is. I could better amuse myself by watching a starving cow eat an entire pasture of grass down to the roots than by watching three minutes of a political debate. I don’t know anything about the subject, and I don’t want to, and I don’t need to. The only thing I do know is that it’s dull, dry, tedious, dreary, monotonous, lifeless and ever so tremendously boring. Without SNL, politics would be about as exciting as watching a slug live out the agenda of its day.
So what if Obama is our first black president ever! The people over in India must think we’re idiots because saying that we have a black president is like announcing that the sky is blue and it has clouds. And what if Hilary were to become our first female president? We’re only what, about 2,000 years behind England. People just make such a big deal about things that don’t matter, rather than what these candidates’ characteristics and strategies are.
Finally, I think I can say without fear of contradiction that there is only one person in this room, B1-6, during period 7 that really needs to know political news, no matter how… crucial it may be to our lives. We’re only teenagers, and really, the foreign policies and tax strategies of our little presidential candidates don’t apply to us yet. So, on a final note, here’s what I think of politics:
I
COULD
NOT
CARE
LESS
