Politics
Honestly, politics do not mean much to me. In general, they hold no interest to me at all. This may be because I am only a kid, and because many high school students arenʼt entertained by what is going on in the government. But for whatever reason, it is practically impossible for me to keep up what is going on in US politics. In school, I try to participate in discussions about what it going on in society today, but that does not always work. I see a bunch of kids in my classes that kept up with the whole election that just took place, where every one of them knew if they were for Obama or McCain, and I could never make that decision. I could not keep up with what each person running believed in, and what they stood for. And I really did not even want too. In my opinion, there is not much reason for someone my age to be so involved in the election, because we can not vote or really take part in it. I really think that if I were able to vote, I may be more interested in what was going on, but that fact that I have absolutely no say in who was elected draws me away from the whole election completely. Another reason I do not really like politics is because I do not understand it. I have no idea what the differences are between the Democrats and the Republicans. I know that the Democrats are more for equality, but that is about it. Just last year, I considered myself a supporter of the Democratic Party because I liked the idea of equality. But once the recent election began, I became completely undecided because I donʼt think one can really be for one party and against another because they know one idea of that party. So in general, I donʼt like politics, at all. This may be because I am arrogant to the topic as a whole, but for whatever reason, I could not care any less about them.

What is Politics?-A Critical Overview
Zip, Zilch, and Zero are just a few of the words I could choose from a stockpile of adjectives that accurately describe what politics truly is. I could better amuse myself by watching a starving cow eat an entire pasture of grass down to the roots than by watching three minutes of a political debate. I don’t know anything about the subject, and I don’t want to, and I don’t need to. The only thing I do know is that it’s dull, dry, tedious, dreary, monotonous, lifeless and ever so tremendously boring. Without SNL, politics would be about as exciting as watching a slug live out the agenda of its day.
So what if Obama is our first black president ever! The people over in India must think we’re idiots because saying that we have a black president is like announcing that the sky is blue and it has clouds. And what if Hilary were to become our first female president? We’re only what, about 2,000 years behind England. People just make such a big deal about things that don’t matter, rather than what these candidates’ characteristics and strategies are.
Finally, I think I can say without fear of contradiction that there is only one person in this room, B1-6, during period 7 that really needs to know political news, no matter how… crucial it may be to our lives. We’re only teenagers, and really, the foreign policies and tax strategies of our little presidential candidates don’t apply to us yet. So, on a final note, here’s what I think of politics:
I
COULD
NOT
CARE
LESS

Welcome!
Here we go again. I am creating this blog to offer additional resources and to start a discussion on Julius Caesar. I already have some sites for you to visit in preparation for reading Shakespeare's tragedy. If you find ones that are useful, feel free to add to this list.
